Studying in the UK puts you close to some of the most exciting cities in the world. Here are just a few of the places you can visit while studying in the UK:

Amsterdam, Holland
The capital of the Netherlands is an exciting place to hang out, with an interesting collection of bars and cafÉs. A very cosmopolitan and modern city, it is also very beautiful with tree-lined canals, cobbled streets and old crooked houses.

Queen's Day, on 30 April, is a particularly good day to be in Amsterdam, as the city celebrates the day with street parties, live music and lots of beer. Throughout June and August a huge arts festival, called the Holland Festival, is held. Berlin, Germany
Berlin, the capital of Germany, is a very grand city, with many impressive public buildings. There is plenty to do there, as the city has a number of good museums, theatres, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

There are also many interesting festivals which take place throughout the year such as the Berlin International Film Festival in February, the techno music festival Loveparade in July and a JazzFest in November.

Brussels, Belgium
Spend a little over two hours on a Eurostar train from London, and you can find yourself in Brussels.

A trip to the capital of Belgium can be an especially fun way to spend a weekend away for those who like their food and drink.

Belgium chocolates are particularly sumptuous and there are lots of chocolatiers in Brussels where you can taste and buy them. The country is also famed for its waffles, beer and national dish of mussels and fries.

No trip to Brussels is complete without a visit to the Atomium in the Heysel Park. Constructed by architect AndrÉ Waterkeyn for the 1958 World's Fair in the city, the Atomium is a model of a crystalline metal molecule, magnified 150 billion times.
