Schools by Region and Type
The United States has varied climate and geographical features, and with colleges in all 50 states, this gives students many choices for where to study. The country is divided into four regions: South, West, Midwest, and the Northeast. The Ivy League schools and the Seven Sisters, some of the most internationally well-known and prestigious schools in the United States, are located in the Northeast. The Ivy League is made up of eight coeducational colleges, and the Seven Sisters includes seven traditionally female colleges. In each region, large cities are some of the best places to look for jobs and careers that are experiencing growth.
