1. Why did you choose to study Development Studies?
I’ve always wanted to change the world, although I know it is not possible. I guess I just wanted to do something that helps a little bit, because the world is so unfair.

2. What attracted you to study at Flinders?
I thought Adelaide was a great city. Flinders was the only university offering Development Studies in Adelaide and I’d heard great things about the course.

3. What sort of skills do you think you have developed since starting your studies?
The course has taught me to think more critically about the world, especially when it comes to aid politics. I used think aid any kind of aid was good. Now I see it is just another imperialistic tool, and I am just more critical of everything.

4. What sort of influences at Flinders have contributed to your personal development?
I think every aspect of leaving home and studying abroad has added to my personal development. The experience of making new friends, settling down and finding my feet in Adelaide has made me more independent and more myself.

5. Looking back on your current experiences, say, two or three years from now, what would you say were the highlights of your study experience at Flinders?
It’s been a very happy time for me. I’ve learned heaps and had a lot of fun in the process. My lecturers at Flinders have been great – always engaging and encouraging us to participate as much as possible in lectures. The whole experience has been just been fantastic. I love flinders and I love Adelaide.
